The rules
are as follows;
1. Who
can Participate?
To participate
in the PICO jet Race, all pilots must have third party liability insurance
and certified 35MHz radio equipment. Both is to be confirmed at the registration.
2. Which
models can participate?
The
PICOJet Races are only for production made Pico-Jets with standard production
400 size motors, standard propeller and standard 7-cells, not selected.
The foam material sections of the kit cannot be reinforced or modified
with the exception of lengthening the control surfaces. The
span must amount to 860mm at least. This is to be verified by the judges.
The models are to be marked after inspection by the judges with the colored
panels.
3.Flying
Field.
The
organizer marks an airfield of min. 80m x 50 m (box), inside of which,
with min.15 m separation, are 3 the Pylons.
4. To
Qualify.
Depending
on the number of participants (min. 3, max. 5) the participants draw lots
for the group rounds. The event then takes a knock out form to decide the
next round, with the top two going through each time.
5.
Racing.
• The
pilots line up at the start with their assistants who will launch the models
(if enough people are available)
• Each
pilot has coloured flag assigned to their plane.
• On
the signal of the starter the models are launched. They fly outside the
triangle marked by the Pylons in the clockwise direction as often and fast
as possible.
• The
boundaries of the airfield are not to be flown outside of.
• If
a pylon is missed, it is to be re-rounded again or it will result in disqualification.
• Running
takes 3 minutes and ends when the organizer decides.
• The
models are then to be landed within the field. No part of the model may
land outside.
• The
winner is the pilot who has the most laps in the 3 min time. With pilots
on the same lap, the position is taken. • Other competitions can be 'touch
and go', with the number of cycles counted, the most being the winner.
• A 1 min climb to height and maximum glide with a spot landing is a further
addition.
6. Reasons
for Disqualification
A) Late
appearance at the start,
B) Nonparticipation
at the Briefing,
C) Not
uniquely marking the model,
D) Non
standard configuration
E) Excessively
high flight,
F) Flying

G) Off-field
landing,
All
judges decisions are final.
7. Each
pilot is responsible for their models safety.
