| We
use the same timber, materials and attention to detail for the Smart and
Airflow ranges as is required for props that are used
for Target and Surveillance drones - smaller ones do, in fact, 'use off the
shelf' Airflow propellers!
World wide, very few
manufactures can match our experience!
|
These are what we are famous for! All our props are made from European beech wood on our purpose own designed machines to ensure accurate machining and consistency of performance. Once made, each prop is hand finished and sprayed (sanding between coats) with a fuel resistant, protective clear lacquer. We make two different shapes;
Please note, if there is no price, we don't make that prop! To order,

NOTES
ABOUT GETTING THE BEST RESULTS OUT OF YOUR AIRSCREW Balance:
There are several differing opinions
about the way to balance. Some advocate sanding the front of the heaviest blade
so the back and hence the pitch is not altered, others suggest only sanding the
back so the front airfoil section is retained Both
methods will necessitate the blade to be re-lacquered. We at PUNCTILIO are
rather lazy and like to keep things simple - Lightly
sand (fine garnet or wet & dry) the lightest blade or rub with fine
steel-wool this gives a key for a Two-pack fuel proofer and coat until balanced
- simple and neither the section or the pitch is seriously affected. Even
simpler is just to apply a coloured tip as on our AIRFLOW pattern. Remember Wood
is compressible, when tightening onto your motor shaft, so if you leave the
airscrew in-situ check for tightness before flying, better still remove it when
you pack up there is also less chance of it getting damaged - many an airscrew
has been knocked and sustained a crack at the hub inside the spinner We
only supply airscrews with the single hole but as our hubs are substantial they
will accommodate drilling for multi stud fixing, in our view a single nut
attachment to the motor shaft is rather ambitious for the larger and powerful
engines now in use especially when opening the throttle sharply. If you need to
drill out or bush aim at a smooth sliding fit -
not loose and never tight. TAKE
EXTREME CARE WHEN OPERATING AND KEEP SPECTATORS WELL AWAY - THEIR SAFETY IS YOUR DO
