Robbe
| A
low-cost rapid charger with digital Delta Peak charge termination for 4-24
NC cells. This easy-to-use charger represents an excellent means of charging
up to 24 NC cells quickly from a 12 Volt car battery or mains-powered DC
power supply. With this unit we had in mind the modeller who has
not yet made the jump from seven cells to ten or more simply because of
perceived problems with charging the packs. “The Charger” with its reasonable
price now gives you no excuse for not moving up to a “multi-cell’ power
system.
The
charge current is variable within the range 0.5-5 Amps, and can be read
off directly on an analogue meter. The automatic digital Delta-Peak charge
termination ensures that the charge process is brought to an end correctly.
A pre-peak detection circuit prevents the unit switching off prematurely.

High-performance charging
station for 1...10 cell batteries for model aircraft, boats and cars, with
battery management features.
Variable charge current in the range 0.1 to 6.5 A, making it suitable for
small slow-fly flight packs, receiver and transmitter batteries, as well as
large drive batteries and flight packs.
The charging station provides the following functions in addition to high
charge currents and a broad cell range:
- Charge
- Discharge
- 1 x discharge / charge
- 3 x discharge / charge
The following parameters can be set
and displayed on the large 16-character dot matrix LCD screen:
- Display charge time, capacity,
peak input voltage, average voltage, charge voltage, energy, discharge
current and charge current
- Display and store the last 5
discharged and charged-in capacity values
- Adjust charge current, discharge
current, NC/NiMH termination setting
- Automatic digital Delta Peak
charge termination circuit switches off the charge process at exactly the
right moment; switchable sensitivity for NC and NiMH batteries.
The charger can also be used in
conjunction with the Power Peak SPS 7A mains PSU, No. 8415, and the 230 Volt
mains supply. In this case the maximum current is restricted when high cell
count packs are used.

PEAK ULTIMATE |
“THE ULTIMATE!” |
Power Peak ULTIMATE: the
ultimate intelligent charging station for NC and NiMH batteries consisting of
1...25 cells and lead-acid batteries of 2...12 Volts, incorporating battery
management features. This unit charges and maintains your batteries at a
variable charge current of 0.1...5 Amps. NC or NiMH battery packs can be
charged using automatic or manual settings. Ten memories are available for
storing set values.
Functions:
- Charge
- Discharge (only NC and NiMH)
- Discharge-charge (only NC and
NiMH) The large 2 x 16-character dot matrix LCD screen displays the menu
system, which can be set to German or English.
Accurate push-buttons are used to
set the following parameters, which can be read directly from the screen:
Set:
- Charge current, discharge current
- No. of cells, battery capacity
- Battery type: NC, NiMH or
lead-acid
- Automatic or manual charge
process
- Beeper On - Off Display:
- Discharged / charged-in capacity
- Charge time, charge voltage
- Active charge-discharge cycle
|
When a process is started a
"working display" automatically appears, giving the user full
information about the current charge process at a glance. The screen displays
charge current, charge voltage, capacity and charge time. The automatic digital
Delta Peak charge termination circuit is optimised for NC and NiMH batteries,
and switchable between the two types. In automatic mode the charge current for
NiMH batteries is automatically limited to the 1C rate. In automatic mode the
charging station automatically calculates the appropriate charge current,
discharge current and final discharge voltage, and sets them to the optimum
values. The ULTIMATE can also be used in conjunction with the Power Peak SPS 7A
mains PSU, No. 8415, and the 230 Volt mains supply. In this case the maximum
current is restricted when high cell count packs are used.

PEAK INFINITY 2 |
Automatic
charging station
with
integral battery management |
A powerful
micro-processor controlled automatic charging station including battery
management system for NC batteries with 1-30 cells — and all at a fair
price. The Infinity 2 is a sensible development of the Power Peak Infinity,
of which many thousands are already in use, and contains a number of new
functions. The software functions have been expanded, and the hardware
has also been significantly up-graded. For example, all settings are now
displayed on a large 2 x 16 character LCD screen, the battery sockets are
now arranged on the front face of the unit for better access, and the top
mounted fan works only when required, i.e. it is under software control.

DELTA Peak charge
termination
Fully
automatic termination of the charge process using the digital Delta Peak
detection method. A pre peak detection circuit largely prevents premature
termination with deep discharged or NC packs which have been stored for
a long time.
Capacity measurement
program
Charge
station charges until Delta Peak termination, then discharges at a pre-set
(variable) value and displays discharged capacity. Up to 99 cycles possible,
last 5 charged-in and discharged capacity values are stored and can be
displayed.
Battery maintenance
program
Charge
station discharges down to the pre-set (variable) final discharge voltage,
gives an automatic full charge using Delta Peak termination, then displays
charged-in capacity. Up to 99 cycles are possible, last five charged-in
and discharged capacity values are stored. The Power Peak Infinity charger
features an upwards and downwards voltage converter so that it can charge
any pack between 1 and 30 NC cells from a 12 Volt car battery. This makes
the unit ideal for measuring and selecting single cells, exploiting the
automatic charge I discharge cycle and the station’s ability to store capacity
values. In addition to the rapid charge output the unit features a second
charge output for transmitter and receiver batteries with 4-8 cells, providing
a constant charge current of about 250 mA.
